217 - Disqualified Failures

Some of you have been wanting to see these two disqualified failures (no, they did not get to the WWI contest for very obvious reasons :D) - scroll down a bit and start playing!

To save my face and up the quality of these both, they will be re-cut. Final Warcraft VI will get the rickrolls removed + the correct Final Fantasy music put in.

The Scarlet Thorn will get a more slower paced cut - I plan to include a narration + more gore into it. And of course - a better sound design in the effect and music departments.

Can't win everytime but losing twice is an achievement! Aaaand here they are:

Final Warcraft VI
Before and/or after watching compare the video to this
(no, it's not a rickroll).

(before pressing play - turn your volume UP, the sound design by Caruu kicks ass!)

The Scarlet Thorn
Gimme some feedback on this one!
I really need it for the directors cut!

Personally, I find it a bit jarring when the camera shakes and twists in the Scarlet Thorn without no apparent reason, especially when the shot is not a PoV shot. And I understand that many shots were taken from a low angle to make Sylvanas appear more powerful, but some shots look like your cameraman was a gnome trying to keep up with the action.. and then the camera transitions to a high angle, almost if the gnome just jumped 10 feet up in the air. One such shot sequence is the one where the Scarlet lookout runs across the courtyard, enters the cathedral proper and is about to report to Mograine and Whitemane. On shots like that, I feel that using one of your trademark steadicam-like pans would be better.

Damn ! I really tought the link was a rickroll.

Well the Scarlet Thorn is very well done, but I think it'll be much better with narration.
Other than that, it's hard to tell what to improve. Low-quality + darkness makes it hard to see.

After rewatching I must say the gnome-cameraman (that was actually a funny comparison) doesn't hindered me so much, tough I'm sure Shalkis is much more qualified than me to talk about this.

The only thing, it's not very important, is that if you redo it entirely (which I don't think you will, there's no need to), you might use a two-handed weapon (that sticks in the back) instead of a one-handed since the bow and the sword often overlap when Sylvanas is walking.

I hope I'm clear enough, my English sucks sometimes...

Hi there, I really liked your disqualified Final Warcraft vid, which made me think about why not make a WoW/Diablo kind of fusing, the thought behind it,would be like:

"What if the world where bridged? What if the Prime Evils (maybe Lilith?) could invade Azeroth?"

The "Res Angel" in WoW has similar wings to Tyreal it might not be that difficult to actually make a Tyreal character model for WoW.

Also the sounds could be remixed Diablo stuff maybe even fused with WoW themes. There are tons of voice-overs form both games too, I am sure some talented sound mixers could come up with some great stuff.

It could be something like a prohecy or vision in which Medivh is in contact with Deckard Cain or even Tyreal himself?

I would love to see something like this form someone with your quality work.

How about it?

Carry On!

The darkness and the quality of the video were what bothered me the most. I'd hate the judge the overall quality of the vid on that, as it might look a lot better in high quality, but it obscured some of what was going on.

Also, I felt like the fight in the Cathedral should have been longer. The whole video seems to have been building up to that particular part and then it just...ended. Maybe less (or faster) of Sylvannas walking through the Cathedral and more action IN the Cathedral.
