264 - To Home for Christmas

And it's done! A very simple machinima about a blood elf paladins journey back to his family right before christmas.

HOLY CHANGED MODEL FORMAT BATMAN! There is only one modelviewed scene in the entire thing (see the post below).

The soundtrack for this video is Satellite by OceanLab - a classic in it's own genre and one of my personal favourite trance tune of all time. I've been waiting for a situation to machinimate that song and here it finally is.

I'll provide downloads later on, but the stream @ WeGame is in HD720p.

Wow.. youtube has really boosted the video quality

hi there, i'm quite busy at the moment (actually "To Home for Christmas" (Japan->Switzerland) this sunday :) ). So I saw your urgent need for a working WoWModelViewer and compiled a "prerelease" WoWModelViewer I'm working at atm. You can find a download at http://www.wowprovider.com/WoWModelViewer_0.6.0.1_Win32_Debug.zip. See the changelog for details... as I said, I'm going back home for Christmas so there won't be any updates in the next 2 weeks on that project but I hope it still gives you something to work with.

Damn it, can't get it to work.

When running the program, it gives an error: "The program failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Ideas?

I've posted a comment on the wowmodelviewer forum on how to get it working. Got it running myself at the moment, although it occasionally crashes out with a bug that I'm trying to find out more on. It's got the latest item lists etc loaded in though, so you should be able to capture enough to start throwing movies together

yeah it's a debug build, so there are probably some dlls missing on your machine (please run dependancy walker http://www.dependencywalker.com/ to locate any dll's missing). you can then download them from the internet (i recommend www.dll-files.com).

Heh, that's another way of doing it, probably need a smaller download as well :).

Seriously though, thanks for compiling a beta build. Looking forward to helping you with the code once it's on Sourceforge.

Thank you, that's a nice short story BS! Yet again you show how you can also use only a few elements and still make it say alot.

Merry Christmas!
Can't wait to see what's next =]

And once again I have to buy another album. Your musical taste is fantastic...well, mostly because it mirrors mine so closely.

I don't know how you do it, but seriously...get out of my head!

Love the video, as usual.

Drachkin: Jeps, tuo tuli ulos siinä 2003 loppupuolella. Sain kaverilta ton mp3sena ja kuuntelin sen niin puhki kun mp3sen vaan voi kuunnella - myöhemmin piti ostaa sitte ihan aito cd-sinkkukin :)

Sathy: Hopefully my next X-mas movie for the WCM contest. If I get it done, it'll be very different compared to this (content wise).

Michael: You might wanna re-consider, if you mean buying the OceanLab album. Have a pre-listen to it (for example @ www.cdjshop.com), since I was heavily disappointed by it.

Thanks for the comments everyone :)

I couldn't find the "Radio Edit" that matched the mix you used on the video, but found a version of the single I'm happy with.

I did preview "Sirens of the Sea" and liked it enough to buy the whole album. It was under 10 dollars for the MP3 version, so it was cheap.
